From Monday 13 February to Friday 17 February
8am to 6pm

Our holiday playscheme is open for children aged 3 to 8 years and families in the community, with a lovely indoor and outdoor space. Booking is necessary and a minimum of 2 days a week required.
£23 per day with a packed lunch plus £3 if you require lunch.

Winter Daze – February half term 2012

Packed with ideas and information about centres of activity for the forthcoming half term holiday. The range of things to do covers sport, crafts, gardening and much more.

As always Waltham Forest services cover a range of ages, with something to do for the under 5′s, 5 plus, 13 – 19 years…and people of all ages and abilities too.

Spring 2012 Newsletter

isabelPic4We have just published our newsletter for Spring 2012. Packed full of news and information about Church Hill Nursery School.

Our theme this term is ‘Ourselves’ and we will also be looking at and exploring winter weather, making displays of family and baby photographs.

We will be changing the role play area into a ‘hospital’ to develop understanding and learning about these things.

Welcome the New year in…

fireworksPic45Waltham Forest are holding two major FREE firework displays on Monday 2nd. January 2012.

You can see the details below, with events at the Marsh Lane Playing Fields and also at The Highams Park.

We are going to be welcoming in 2012 with a bang, as we light up the sky of Waltham Forest with two spectacular firework shows that will be choreographed to music from the movies.

Mark the end of your seasonal celebrations by coming down to Marsh Lane in Leyton or The Highams Park to marvel at the fireworks, while enjoying our fun packed entertainment programme including a fantastic fun fair, fire performers and food and drink stalls for everyone to enjoy.

You can register with the Borough to keep up to date with the Big Six events in Olympic Year, with a chance to get free tickets to events, here.

Activity and calendar – updated

smilingFacePic3We have updated our activity planner from November – which is why we are all smiling.

You can see or download a full copy of our planner from the front page of our website here. It’s a publication worth having, as it includes not only our calendar, but a location map and local places to visit – really useful.

It is also available on our Children Centre activities page, where you can immediately see the weeks activities by day.

We are in the process of tidying up our web page navigation, making the buttons easier to use and fewer of them

This great Waltham Forest publication offers parents and carers information about activities available on the borough for the forthcoming half-term break.

There are details of things to do for children under five, for children between five and ten years, as well as for young people aged eleven to nineteen years of age.

You can also find activities for the whole family – from Brooks Farm activity sessions to spectacular firework display.

Is your bike fit enough?

cyclingTearOutDon’t forget to ring and register for your free smoothie on the day of Le Tour de Waltham Forest – Sunday 26th June 2011.

You can call on 020 8496 3000 and get involved in this great day of cycling, exercise and fun taking place in Walthamstow Town Square.

Why not go along and and check out the great cycle displays and get a free bike safety check?

On the day you can take part in bike rides around the borough. For the really keen try the bronze, silver or gold rides – from 6 to 22 miles.
