Applying for Primary School

In Waltham Forest children usually start full-time education in a Primary School in the Autumn term of the year in which they become five years old. To be allocated a Primary or Infant School place, you must apply online before 15th January 2017 at:

www.eadmissions.org.uk

Allocations are made by the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and information about all the Waltham Forest Primary Schools and how to apply can be found at:

https://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/content/applying-primary-school-place

Staff at the Nursery School can talk to you about how the process works. If you find that the information you need is not on the website you can call the Pupil Admission Service on 020 8496 3000 or email primary.admissions@walthamforest.gov.uk

You should find out which school your child is going to at least one term before leaving Nursery School. When you do find out, please tell us so that we can make links with staff from your child’s new school.

Transition can be a difficult time for children and we try to support the process by contacting reception class staff at the schools. We arrange visits, meet staff and pass on childrens’ records of achievement, work samples and other written information.
